A compact palette can reveal which tones do most of the work. Look for the background, the main subject, and the darkest and lightest areas. If two essential regions merge, increase the palette slightly or choose a source with stronger lighting separation rather than forcing an unreadable result.
The finished PNG can serve as a reference for a sketchbook exercise, a mood board, or later digital drawing. It does not specify paint mixtures or physical material colors. Make those choices separately and compare a small trial with the reference before scaling the idea into a larger piece.
