The starting four rows and four columns create sixteen cells. Adjust the two counts independently if your reference needs rectangular cells.

Grid controls describe rows and columns of cells. A four-column layout has three internal vertical divisions; outside borders are separate from those divisions. Think about how many regions you need to locate or copy, then set the counts accordingly.
Thick, dark gridlines are easy to see but can cover delicate edges in a photograph. For drawing reference, use a thinner or more transparent line around features such as eyelashes and small leaves. For a presentation viewed from farther away, a stronger guide may be easier to read.
